📐 Scope and Classification

ASTM D6221/D6221M details factory-prepared reinforced bituminous flashing sheets for roofing and waterproofing. These sheets utilize bitumen (asphalt, coal-tar pitch, or polymer-modified) reinforced with organic, polyester, or glass fiber felts, woven fabrics, or thermoplastic films. Surfacing includes mineral powders, granules, or metal foils.
