IEC 60347: Transverse Flux Induction Heating — Continuous Strip Annealing and Heat Treatment

How to Heat Steel Strip by Hundreds of °C per Minute: Transverse Flux Induction

IEC 60347:1982 specifies transverse flux induction heating (TFX) requirements. Continuous strip annealing lines must heat strip from room temperature to 700–900°C at tens of metres per minute. Traditional longitudinal flux heating is inefficient for thin strip (≤1 mm); TFX, with its flux perpendicular to the strip surface, dramatically improves thin-strip heating efficiency.

TNLab — TFX is the key technology for thin metal strip continuous heat treatment — solving the low efficiency of longitudinal flux on thin workpieces.
