ASTM D5926-15 (Reapproved 2020) is a standard specification that defines the material and physical requirements for nonrigid poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) gaskets. These preformed molded and spliced gaskets are specifically designed for use in mechanical couplings in gravity flow plumbing systems. The standard covers drain, waste, and vent (DWV), sewer, sanitary, and storm plumbing applications. These gaskets are intended to facilitate the joining of both similar and dissimilar piping materials and pipe sizes.
