D4115-20 – Standard Test Method Technical Guide

📐 Scope and Fabric Types

ASTM D4115-20 establishes the performance specification for woven and knitted fabrics intended for women’s and girls’ dress gloves. Per Section 1.1, it covers fabrics composed of any textile fiber or blend. Section 1.2 explicitly exempts fabrics used for interlinings and industrial-protective clothing. Section 1.3 requires that specified properties be met independently in both the length and width fabric directions.

⚙️ Key Test Methods and Requirements

The standard references a comprehensive set of ASTM and AATCC test methods to cover mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and colorfastness. The applicable method often varies based on whether the fabric is woven or knitted.
