D3330 – Standard Test Method Technical Guide

ASTM D3330/D3330M −04 (Reapproved 2018) specifies the measurement of peel adhesion of pressure-sensitive tapes. It provides a standardized approach for assessing the uniformity of adhesion within a roll of tape, between rolls, or between production lots. Issued under the fixed designation D3330/D3330M, this standard is approved for use by agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense and was developed in accordance with international standardization principles.

📐 Scope and Test Methods Overview

The standard defines six distinct test methods to evaluate different tape constructions and adherend surfaces under both 180° and 90° peel angles. Each method provides a general measure of adherence to a standard steel panel (meeting ASTM A666) or to other surfaces of interest.
