D2310-06 – Standard Test Method Technical Guide

ASTM D2310-06 (Reapproved 2012) provides a standardized classification system for machine-made “fiberglass” (glass-fiber-reinforced thermosetting-resin) pressure pipe. This standard covers both glass-fiber-reinforced thermosetting-resin pipe (RTRP) and glass-fiber-reinforced polymer mortar pipe (RPMP). Classification is based on the method of manufacture, materials, and test performance, not on dimensions or raw material specifications.

📋 Scope and Classification Framework

D2310 classifies machine-made fiberglass pressure pipe by three criteria: method of manufacture, type of construction materials, and test performance of the product type. The standard specifically notes that “polymer” does not include natural polymers. There is no known ISO equivalent to D2310.

DoD Approved: This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.
