📜 Scope and Classification System

ASTM D1055-09 specifies the standard for flexible cellular rubber products manufactured from latex foam. The standard covers materials made from natural, reclaimed, or synthetic rubber latices (or combinations thereof) featuring a vulcanized open-cell structure. It strictly excludes sponge and expanded rubbers, which fall under ASTM D1056. Where conflicts arise between this general specification and a product-specific standard, the latter standard takes precedence. All values in the standard are regarded as standard in SI units. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices prior to use.
